Cyclone in formation causes storms and weather changes across Brazil; look

Heavy clouds advance across Brazil this Wednesday (10), making rain dominant in a large part of the national territory. Several weather systems in the center-south of the country pull moisture from the north into the region, forming a instability corridor which should intensify throughout the day.

Cyclones cause storms in the center-south

An extratropical cyclone, already moving towards the ocean, is still causing rain in Paraná and Santa Catarina. Furthermore, a second cyclone forming on the continent should be the mainly responsible for the storms predicted for the center-south of the countrywith large accumulations expected in the coming days.

The storms this Wednesday (10) are especially concentrated on the border between Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the rain is already falling, still weakly, but the tendency is for it to gain strength in the next few hours.

As instabilities are also expected to spread to other states of the Southeast and Central-West, in a behavior considered atypical for the month of Junecaused by the passage and formation of several cold fronts associated with extratropical cyclones.

São Paulo has moderate rain today and risk of storms tomorrow

In the capital of São Paulo, the sun still appears between some clouds for much of the morning. After a Tuesday (9) with a predominance of sun and more pleasant temperatures, the rain returns this Wednesday (10), with an accumulation forecast of between 10 and 12 millimeters — without characterizing a storm.

For Thursday (11), however, the storm risk increaseswith up to 20 cumulative millimeters expected. On Friday (12), the rain begins to lose strength, but there is warning for wind in the city.

Recife (PE) should be one of the rainiest capitals of the day, with a forecast of up to 30 millimeters accumulated. Although the sky is still blue and with few clouds in the morning, there is a risk of heavy rain during the afternoon of this Wednesday (10). The city had already been recording intense rains in recent days.

In São Luís (MA), around 20 millimeters are also forecast, concentrated in the afternoon, after a sunny morning. also enters the radar, with up to 20 millimeters accumulated predicted.

In the North of the country, Manaus (AM) and there is a risk of rain mainly in the afternoon, with up to 15 millimeters accumulated and very muggy weather. Maximum temperatures in these cities should reach between 29°C and 30°C.

In , the predicted maximum is 32°C, while Cuiabá (MT) should reach 31°C, with firm weather, but with attention to low humidity levels.

Dry air is a concern in some regions

Despite the predominant rain, some areas of the country still suffer from dry air this Wednesday (10). Humidity levels in these regions are around 30%, well below the minimum of 60% recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization).

Firm weather persists from Rio de Janeiro to the interior of the Northeast, although the region’s coast may experience storms. In Belo Horizonte (MG), the predicted maximum is 27°C, with higher temperatures compared to the beginning of the week, despite still cold nights and early mornings.
