The 2026 World Cup starts this Thursday (June 11). It’s the of the tournament, with 48 teams and 104 games in 16 cities spread across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The Brazilian team faces its first opponent on Saturday (June 13), in the group stage. The dispute will be against the Moroccans, in Group C, which also has teams from Panama and Scotland.
In Brazil, the transmission will be:

- Globoplay (streaming);
- gtv (via Globoplay);
- CazéTV (YouTube);
- SBT (open TV);
- N Sports (YouTube).
Live Mode, owner of CazéTV, will be the only platform to show all 104 World Cup matches on YouTube. The channel popularized by Casimiro Miguel also reached a sponsorship value of around R$2 billion and has at least 11 brands paying to appear in commercial spaces: Ambev, Bet365, Betnacional, Coca-Cola, Decolar, GM, iFood, Itaú, KTO, Mercado Livre and Vivo.

The World Cup is a private, profit-making sporting event. It is carried out every 4 years by . Teams qualify through knockouts. The technical committee and squad of each team competing in the competition are chosen by private entities.
In the case of Brazil, it is up to defining who the coach is and which players are “called up” (in reality, everyone is invited and whoever is interested goes; as the commercial gain from marketing is great, the athletes respond to the “call up”).
The Brazilian government has no influence on choosing the team that participates in the tournament. In other words, it is not the country that is represented in the World Cup, but a football team chosen by a private entity.
