According to the President of the United States, Donald Trump canceled the attacks against Iran planned for Thursday. He cited the achievement of progress in the negotiations as the reason. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump specified, that the negotiations and the final points of the agreement with Iran were approved by all parties involved in terms of content and detail. According to him, the time and place of signing this agreement will be announced shortly, writes TASR.
Trump explained that he canceled the attacks and the planned bombing of Iran “based on the fact that the negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been referred to the highest leadership of Iran, which has approved them”.
According to him, the final points of the agreement have been approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and others.
“The naval blockade will remain in full force and effect until this agreement is finalized,” Trump added, referring to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports. CNN reports that Trump has indicated several times before that a deal with Iran is close, but this claim has since been proven false.
But Iran this week, through intermediaries in Qatar, submitted its latest draft of an agreement to end the war to the US, according to a person familiar with the situation. The Qatari delegation discussed this agreement in Tehran this week.
The head of the White House warned a few hours before the aforementioned post that the United States on Thursday evening “very hard” they will hit the Islamic Republic. He also said that in the “not too distant future” the US would take control of Iran’s Khark Island and other oil infrastructure facilities and gain control over Iran’s oil and gas sector.
