The Olhão Seafood Festival returns this summer for another edition and promises to transform Olhão once again into one of the busiest spots in the Algarve during August. Between the 10th and 15th, Jardim Pescador Olhanense hosts the 38th edition of what is one of the most emblematic gastronomic events in the region, bringing together shows, seafood and views of the Ria Formosa. Over the course of six nights, the venue opens at 7:30 pm and runs until 1:30 am, with the main shows scheduled for 11 pm.
According to the organization, this year’s edition once again focuses on strong names in music in Portuguese. The beginning takes place with Matias Damásio on the 10th of August, followed by Deejay Telio on the 11th and Nêmanus on the 12th. The final stretch of the festival brings together some of the most anticipated names: Calema performs on the 13th of August, Mariza takes the stage on the 14th and Daniela Mercury closes the event on the 15th. The program maintains its commitment to a popular program, designed to attract different audiences throughout the week.
But the music is only part of the experience. The festival continues to stand out for its gastronomic component, which keeps seafood as the main protagonist. Oysters, shellfish, prawns, seafood rice and cataplana remain among the most popular dishes, many of them prepared with products from the estuary. The connection with the sea and Olhão’s fishing tradition continues to be one of the central pillars of the event.
The venue grew and diversified
In recent years, the festival has adapted its offering to serve new audiences. The organization reinforced food courts and introduced alternatives for those looking for options outside of seafood, including vegetarian dishes, pizzas and sandwiches. This evolution made it possible to make the venue more comprehensive without changing the original identity of the event.
The space, located close to the municipal market and the marina, is now one of the most popular spots in the city during August. The location, combined with the gastronomic and musical offerings, helps explain why it continues to attract thousands of visitors in each edition.
Tickets are now available
Those for 2026 are already on sale and maintain identical prices to recent years. Daily entry costs 12 euros for adults and 6 euros for children between seven and 12 years old, free for children under seven. There is also a general pass for all six nights for €54 for adults and €27 for children.
After almost four decades, the Seafood Festival remains one of the great classics of the Algarve summer. The combination of music, gastronomy and location continues to be the basis of an event that, every year, reinforces the connection between Olhão, the sea and those who choose the city to spend the summer.
