Bad weather delays the departure of the Brazilian team for the game against Scotland

The Brazilian team’s program before the last game of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup suffered a slight delay this Tuesday (26).

The delegation’s flight, which was scheduled for 1 pm (Brasília time) from Newark International Airport, in New Jersey, only took off at around 5:45 pm. According to the CBF, bad weather and air traffic were responsible for the change in schedule.

After arriving in Fort Lauderdale, in Miami, coach Carlo Ancelotti and striker Matheus Cunha will hold a press conference at Miami Stadium.

Climate worries

The 2026 World Cup had its first game stopped by rain, with France v Iraq being affected by lightning that hit the stadium in Philadelphia. Now, the question remains whether Brazil x Scotland is at risk of being hampered by bad weather.

Valid for the last round of the group stage, the Seleção’s duel against the Scots takes place this Wednesday (24), at 7pm (Brasília time) at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami, Florida.

According to weather websites in the United States, Wednesday in Miami will feature partly cloudy skies, with temperatures between 26° and 32°.

There is a possibility of approximately 30% of rain at the time of the match, but the tendency is for it not to be severe enough to stop the match.

Rayan can be a starter

Raphinha’s absence opened up a dispute for space in the Brazilian team’s attack for the clash against Scotland, this Wednesday (24), in the final round of the World Cup group stage. And, less than 24 hours before the match, Rayan appears as the main candidate to take over the place among the starters.

Since the victory over Haiti, Carlo Ancelotti has been observing the options available to replace the striker. The two names evaluated most closely are Rayan and Luiz Henrique, but the young man revealed by Vasco gained an advantage in the race for the position and, at the moment, is ahead of his competitor in the technical committee’s preference.

In training leading up to the clash against Scotland, the Italian coach even gave the two wingers opportunities in the starting lineup. The official definition of the lineup will only be made on the day of the game, but the tendency is for Rayan to be chosen to play alongside Vini Jr. and Matheus Cunha in the offensive sector.
