The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation has made two consular emergency telephone numbers available to assist those affected by the double earthquake in Venezuela, in which there are currently no reports of any Spanish injuries or deaths.
Specifically, Minister José Manuel Albares has indicated that both the Spanish Embassy in Venezuela and the Consulate in Caracas are “fully operational” consular emergency telephone numbers: +34 91 000 1249from Spain; and +58 424-2090264 in the Latin American country.
In statements to RNE, Albares recalled that consular telephones are working so that citizens can report “if they are aware of any Spaniard in Venezuela in need” so that the Foreign Ministry can intervene “with complete speed.” In addition, it has asked the relatives of Spaniards residing in the Latin American country to inform themselves through official social networks.
The minister has also detailed that the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) is available “to provide all necessary emergency aid.”
