The former Minister of Health will launch this Saturday (27) the book “There is still time: the covid-19 pandemic and the transformation of the future” at Megafauna, at Cultura Artística, in São Paulo.

One of the themes of the book is clashes with the government (PL) and actions to confront denialism. Nísia, at the time, presided over Fiocurz and served as minister of management (PT) between 2023 and 2025.

In one of the episodes, Nísia tells how she angered Bolsonaro and the then Minister of the Civil House, by wearing a mask during a meeting about the worsening health crisis in the country.

Bolsonaro’s then minister reports behind the scenes of the construction of the Fiocruz hospital center, in Rio de Janeiro, and the race to open beds when the health system showed signs of collapse.

Sanitarian and sociologist, Nísia also describes the trauma of losing loved ones and the state of alert in which she lived during the pandemic.

During the launch, starting at 3pm, Nísia and the former minister will have a chat.

The book is published by Civilização Brasileira, an imprint of Grupo Record Editorial.
