Atlanta – The Democratic Republic of Congo has qualified for the knockout phase of the World Cup as one of the eight best third-placed teams in the group. The Central Africans beat Uzbekistan 3-1 after falling behind in Atlanta on Saturday (local time) and will face England in the round of 16 after the first World Cup victory in their history. Half an hour before the start of the game it was clear that Austria would be eliminated from the tournament if they lost to Algeria.
