Union actions across the country call for an end to the 6 x 1 scale

This Tuesday (June 30, 2026) workers took to the streets of 15 States and the Federal District at the end of the 6

The Chamber of Deputies on May 27th at 221 of 2019, which changes the scale from 6 X 1 to 5 X 2 and gradually reduces the weekly working hours from 44 hours to 40 hours. The text awaits analysis by the Senate.

“This act represents the pressure of the popular movement to end the 6 x 1 scale. There is life beyond work”said Agnelo Queiroz (PT), former governor of Brasília, during the event. He called the country’s elite “slave”.

“It’s not possible that workers don’t have more time. This project is about time and people’s health. So they can rest and spend time with their family”stated pre-candidate for the government of Brasília for the PT. He asked that Alcolumbre put the PEC that ends the 6 x 1 vote in the Senate.

CUT (Central Única dos Trabalhadores), Frentes Brasil Popular and Povo Sem Medo, Forum of Centrals and the VAT (Life Beyond Work) movement promoted the mobilizations across the country.

In addition to Brasília, 15 states had acts:

When calling for the events, the president of the CUT, Sérgio Nobre, stated that workers need to take to the streets and use social media to pressure the Federal Senate to approve the proposal.
