Gaza authorities confirm the death of several people, mostly women and childrenin the last few hours. This at a time when the nearly 15-month war has stretched into the new year with no end in sight.
“We hope to see the day when peace comes. We want to experience the peace that other people around the world enjoy. It’s a dream to see peace”, they say.
The arrival of winter, with intense rain and low temperatures, increases the suffering of thousands of displaced people living in temporary shelters. In recent days, the storms destroyed tents and flooded hospitals.
Flooded or transformed into battlefields, hospitals have been one of the Israeli army’s favorite targets.
In a report, the UN says that, therefore, the Gaza’s healthcare system is on the verge of total collapsewith catastrophic effects for the population. Israel’s permanent representative to the UN says the report is fabricated.
