The total number of arrivals of migrants to Britain since the beginning of the year is 2716.
Almost 600 migrants arrived only on Sunday to the United Kingdom through the Lamans Strait – a maximum of one day from the beginning of the year. Data on Monday was published by the British Ministry of the Interior, TASR reports according to the DPA report.
The data in question states that on Sunday, March 2, 11 boats came to Britain through the Laman Strait of 592 migrants. Until then, it was record -breaking in this respect on January 13, when the British authorities captured 260 migrants. Historically record -breaking – regardless of the year – remains on September 3, 2022, when 1305 migrants came to Britain on one day, DPA recalls.
French authorities performed several operations to save migrants
The total number of arrivals of migrants to Britain has increased to 2716 since the beginning of the year, 20 percent more than in the same period of last year (2255), but eight percent less than in 2023 (2953).
Meanwhile, the authorities on the French side reported that on the night of Saturday to Sunday they had performed several operations to save migrants on boats in the aforementioned area.
