A FPA (Parliamentary Front of Agriculture) He criticized the measures announced by the federal government on Thursday (6) to contain food inflation, which he called ineffective.
Herring, the most efficient solution to combat the high prices is due to the support for the harvesting of the Brazilian crop that occurs in the coming months and the correction of actions that directly impact the cost of production in Brazil.
The group members evaluate that the government tries to create a narrative in which the “problem” comes from the offer, but that it is the results of the adopted fiscal policy and the encumbrance of rural producers.
”is not transferring the burden of playing the imbalance of government public spending to rural producers that we will have cheaper food and economically viable production.”
The FPA states that the strategy of using internal resources to be able to zero taxes on imported products will not have immediate effect for reducing pricesespecially if there is no support for Brazilian production.
The front stressed the need to start the negotiations of the new Plan 25/26, with “the guarantee of total implementation of resources, full access and with interest appropriate to Brazilian rural producers”.
The group members said they also expect a response from the federal government about their own actions to the Ministry of Finance and the Civil House in late February.
