Bolsonaro praises Aldo Rebelo and speaks about the Ministry of the Amazon

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) praised the former minister of the Dilma and Lula governments, Aldo Rebelo, and said that he is thinking about having him as minister of the Amazon in a possible second term.

Bolsonaro recalled that Rebelo took on an agenda to defend the Amazon and traveled the region recently “showing Brazil what our Amazon is”.

According to Bolsonaro, Rebelo is “a fantastic guy in all aspects”. At the time, the former president spoke about relevant political figures outside his party, the PL.

“There are good people in other parties. It is difficult to find it within the PT of PCdoB, of PSOL. I think whoever had it has already left. There is a deputy, I won’t say his name, who was from PCdoB, was rapporteur of the Forest Code in 2012 and left PCdoB. Let’s not shoot him because of that, he’s a fantastic guy in every aspect. He now traveled to the Amazon and gave a message to Brazil”, said Bolsonaro in an interview with the channel AuriVerde Brasillast week.

“We dream of many things, for example, he would have to be, if he agreed obviously, to be invited, then yes, Ministry of the Amazon. With freedom to work, as I gave to all my ministers”, added the former president.

Bolsonaro criticized an agreement signed by Lula with Macron

Bolsonaro then criticized the French government’s interest in the Amazon and said that, at his request, deputy Cabo Gilberto (PL-PB), made a request for information so that the government could inform the content of an agreement signed between Brazil and France recently.

Bolsonaro wants to know whether the agreement involves the Santa Quitéria uranium reserve, in Ceará.

According to the former president, with a renewal in the political framework, and with the operation of a possible Ministry of the Amazon under the command of Rebelo, “we were not going to watch the [Emmanuel] Macron (President of France) came to Brazil after the African country that supplied uranium to France said that it no longer had uranium, because there was a change of government there”.

Approach with Aldo Rebelo

Rebelo, who was at PCdoB between 1985 and 2017, served as chief minister of the Secretariat for Political Coordination and Institutional Affairs in President Lula’s (PT) first term, between 2004 and 2005.

In Dilma’s government, including the four years of the first term and almost two years of the second, Rebelo commanded 3 different portfolios: the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Defense.

In recent interviews, Rebelo has stated that Bolsonaro is suffering political persecution.

Rebelo also served as Secretary of International Relations at São Paulo City Hall until July this year, when he left the position to work on the re-election campaign of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).

Rebelo had taken over the Secretariat at São Paulo City Hall in February this year, after the departure of Marta Suplicy (PT), who left the position to run as vice-president on the ticket of federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), then candidate for mayor of the capital. paulista.
