The president stated that the team wasted its chance to be of global importance; defined the club’s economic situation as “shameful”
The president (PT) said, in an interview broadcast this Sunday (Nov. 10, 2024), that Corinthians’ situation was sad and that the team wasted the chance to become a club with “world class”. For the PT member, the team is “becoming a team with a unique profile from São Paulo”.
“Corinthians, which could be a world-class team, is becoming a team with a São Paulo-only profile, which is very bad for a team that has the fans it has”these.
The statement was given to senators (PSB-GO) and (PDT-DF) no PODK Releasedyes RedeTV!. The program was recorded on Wednesday (Nov 6, 2024), but aired this Sunday (Nov 10).
Kajuru asked the PT member to define in one word the “Roubalheira at Corinthians”to which Lula replied: “Shame”.
The president said, however, that he did not know how to resolve the situation.
“I don’t know what to do, because I need to find out correctly. I’m sad, because Corinthians, after 2012, when they were world champions, could have become a solid team economically. Corinthians threw away the opportunity because it was small. It’s sad, it’s sad”he stated.
