Former governor, former mayor and former senator from Acre sing Botafogo anthem and reveal their passion for football

Former governor Jorge Viana, accompanied by former mayor Raimundo Angelim and former senator Aníbal Diniz, shared a moment of relaxation by singing the Botafogo anthem, written by Lamartine Babo. The record, shared on social media by Jorge Viana, celebrates the Rio club’s recent achievement on the international stage.

Viana, a passionate Botafogo fan, highlighted the magnitude of the passion for the “Lone Star” in his publication. Quoting Armando Nogueira, also from Botafogo, he praised the club as something beyond a sporting entity:
“Botafogo is much more than a club – it is a heavenly predestination. Its symbol is a divine entity. Happy is the creature whose guide and emblem is a star.”

At the musical meeting, each of the politicians brought their preferences in football, reinforcing the camaraderie of the moment. Jorge Viana highlighted that he was accompanied by Angelim, a Flamengo fan, and Aníbal Diniz, a Santos fan, to celebrate Botafogo’s victorious trajectory in the Libertadores and the strength of football as a shared passion.

Viana also remembered his friend Armando Nogueira and his famous reflection on Botafogo:
“Loving Botafogo is much more than loving a woman. Throughout my life, I changed girlfriends, I don’t know, a thousand times. And a thousand others were exchanged for them, but the reciprocal is not at stake now. I would never trade Botafogo, not for another club, not for anything, in this world.”
