It has arrested a citizen of Uzbekistan, whom investigators believe planted the bomb that killed the lieutenant general on the orders of the Ukrainian security service, the Russian Investigative Committee announced today.
“A citizen of Uzbekistan, born in 1995, was arrested on suspicion of Russian radiological, chemical and biological defense forces Igor Kirilov and his aide, Ilya Polikarpov,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
The suspect said he was “recruited by the Ukrainian special services,” according to the same source.
