Minister Ráž presented this year’s plans: We want people to travel better

Open the D1/D4 intersection, complete public procurement for key sections of highways and possibly start their construction or put the new construction law into practice – these are also the plans of the Minister of Transport of the SR Jozef Ráž (nominee of Smeru-SD) in 2025.

“We want to continue with the established pace and continue to work to make life and travel better for people in Slovakia. We would definitely like to conclude the aforementioned public procurements for key highways and, if everything goes smoothly, to start their construction,” said Ráž. He mentioned, for example, the announced public procurements for the missing D3 sections or the D1 section Turany – Hubová.

The head of the transport department also believes that the members of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic will support the new construction law, which they are supposed to discuss in the second reading, and the new legislation will come into force in April. “Thanks to this law, the construction procedure will be faster, simpler and there will be significantly less ‘paperwork’ than today,” zoomed in on Ráž.

The Ministry of Transport plans in 2025 launch an airline connecting Bratislava and Košice. Public procurement for the operator of the line began in December, the department plans to launch the line in March.

“Of course, I believe that we will avoid complications on the construction sites and we will fully open the D1xD4 intersection, the Ružomberok and Košice highway bypasses, and also from a construction point of view, the unique section of the R2 Kriváň – Mýtna,” added Ráž to the Ministry’s plans.

According to Ráž, during the work so far in the department of transport, the most important goal has been achieved slowly but surely, which is to build Slovakia. “We managed to pass the law on strategic investments and the new construction law and move the buildings that have stood for years,” he explained. He also considers the operationalization of the state-supported rental housing system a success.
