The president of the PP, Senator Ciro Nogueira (PI), said on Thursday (7) that he sees no possibility of advancement of the request for impeachment against Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF) in the Senate.
“There is no possibility. It is not the attribution of the senators, the majority. It is an attribution given to the president of Congress, David Alcolumbre, who has said that it may have 80 senators supporting that he will not open the process,” Nogueira said in an interview with GloboNews.
The senator stressed that there is no way to have alcohubre to open the process and recalled that, to approve an impeachment of STF minister, 54 votes are required. “We are still far from having this majority with the current Senate,” he said.
