Managers of six union centrals will meet on the 18th in Switzerland with the Director-General of (World Trade Organization), to press that the institution acts in the mediation of the tariff imposed by Brazilian products.
According to the unions, there will be six centrals that will participate in the meeting: Força Sindical, CUT (Single Workers ‘Central), UGT (General Union of Workers), CTB (Brazilian Workers Center), NCST (New Workers’ Central) and CSB (Brazilian Union Center).
The meeting will be delivered a document asking for the revision of the tariff. Union centrals will also address the job losses in Brazil. “We will demand more protagonism of the WTO and complain about the US government’s neglect in the issue of commercial reciprocity,” says Miguel Tores, president of Força Sindical.
In mid -August the US government made by Brazil about tariff in the World Trade Organization. The Government (PT) called the United States on the WTO, in reaction to the tariffs established by the American on August 6.
Brazilian action argued that both the 40% surcharge determined in July violated the organization’s rules.
