Milorad Dodik must not enter the territory of Slovenia after a unanimous decision of the government, motivated by its unconstitutional activities and financial transfers.
On Thursday, the Slovenian government approved the proposal that, for unspecified reasons, it will prohibit the entry dismissed by the President of the Republic of Serbia (RS) Milorad Dodik. According to reports of AP and STA, TASR reports this.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Matej Archon, the ban concerns only Dodik himself and not his entire family. The Cabinet began to consider this step two weeks ago, on Thursday it agreed unanimously and the day of approval is beginning to apply.
The Slovenian news portal N1 reported that there were several reasons for the government’s decision, in particular the disregard for the court’s decision, Dodik’s separatist attitudes, the pursuit of undermining state institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its constitution or transfers of considerable financial amounts from RS and other parts of the Western Balkan to Slovenia.
The ban is ignored
Dodika deprived the Central Election Commission (CEC) President of the RS in August, but ignores this ban. The local parliament decided to organize a referendum on the judgment against Dodik, which will take place on 25 October.
In February, the Bosnian Federal Court sentenced Dodika for failing to respect the UN High Representatives for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt. In Bosnia, he oversees compliance with the conditions of the peace agreement, which in 1995 ended the civil war. This year, Dodik’s government has developed a series of unconstitutional laws through which the RS tried to weaken the activities of the state judicial authorities and security forces.
Instead of custody fine
The former RS leader avoided the year of RS by paying a fine of EUR 19,000. The Court of Appeal recently dismissed Dodik’s appeal and confirmed to the deprivation of the President of the President of the RS and a six -year ban to hold a political office.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a federal state. In addition to the RS with Serbian, it is mostly also made up of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation, dominated by the Bosnian and Croats. Both entities arose on the basis of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which ended the war in 1992-1995.
