The wave of rage in the social media has caused the murder of the far -right activist between conservative and far -right groups and individuals in and now experts are afraid that words will be re -transformed into acts, which means that the country is not only moving towards a spiral but runs.
US political violence has a long and recent story
So there is a well -recorded pattern, by experts, on how they have such social and political incidents.
Of the hundreds of murderous attacks that were marked by the rise of the far -right in the country through the ranks of extreme conservative Republicans (two characteristic black murder by 21 -year -old Dylan Rouf in 2015 in a church and the attack on the 2017 carrier in 2017) Kerk’s assassination by 22 -year -old Tyler Robinson has passed about ten years.
For years, these attacks have raised social tension and have contributed to political polarization – in the context of the so -called culture war (it can be translated as a war of values/authorities) that defines political life in the country since the 1990s – which was clearly expressed in 2021 with the invasion of the Capitol and the Capitol
In just over a year, the US has experienced assassination and political assassination attempts, against the same President Donald Trump, Members of Minnesota and their wives (Melissa Hortman and her husband, and her husband, and her husband, and her husband, and his wife, Johnson by Luigi Mantzionone and now Charlie Kerk.
After each of these attacks, the “side” that mourned the victim, vowed revenge and expressing her anger about the attack or murder, while in many cases the various incidents were strongly concerned with the central political scene and taking a political category between Republicans and Democrats.
Conservatives consider to be targeted overall
That’s exactly what happened this time. A large number of US President Donald Trump supporters rushed to break out against the left in general, describing the murder of Kerk as the culmination of years of hostility to the Maga (Make America Great Again) movement. On social media, posts that did not mourn about the death of Kerk or was openly in favor of his murder, were considered proof that the conservative camp is increasingly targeted.
Although Donald Trump tried to direct the wrath of his supporters and Charlie Kerk, away from acts of violence, arguing that she must be expressed in the ballot box, he hastened to emphasize his own successes against the Democrats and the “Radicalist” Washington, but also with threats against George Soros, who suggesting that he was considered the funder of the Left’s protesters.
Smells gunpowder at Trump Camp
Despite Trump efforts, however, comments on social media continued river. According to Reuters, Jen Golbek, a professor of Informatics at the University of Maryland, who studies the right online activity, analyzed more than 3,000 posts on two sites – on X and the Philocromic Forum Patriots.win – for 24 hours after the murder.
According to her analysis, there is a mixture of sadness and rage, as well as signs of increased radicalization. All this before the name or motives of the perpetrator become known.
At Patriots.win, the forum smelled of gunpowder, as it housed comments such as “the whole democratic party must be hung now!” Or “this is the burning of the Reichstag” or “it’s time to put an end to democracy.”
Similar comments had climbed the X with many considering Kerk’s death as a turning point, others talking about a “civil war” and others seeking revenge.
At War Room’s podcast, far -right influential commentator and prominent figure by US far -right Steve Banon called Kirk “Witness of America First” and said Kerk was under constant threat of “bad guys”. “We can’t retreat. We can’t hesitate, “Bannon said.
