A simple patent for drying grapes. They will be fragrant, aromatic and without mold

Raisins are a real culinary treasure. They have a lot of natural sweetness, fiber, iron and potassium. Not only are they delicious as a healthy snack, they are also a great addition to baking or porridge, and even for salads or some dry dishes.

The first basic question is – What grapes are suitable for drying? It is known that not every variety will work. Choose non -white grapes for drying, both white and red, it depends on what you prefer. It is known that dark varieties will have a slightly more intense taste and a different color, but white will be a more subtle option.

Specific varieties that are well suited for independent drying at home are – when it comes to red grapes – including Einset Seedless or Raisin de Table Ruby. In the case of a white variety, it is worth paying attention to the suggestion or sulatnine.

The most important thing is that the fruits you choose are healthy, firm and free from signs of mold.

How to dry grapes yourself? Traditionally, of course, they are dried in the sun, but it is quite time -consuming, because it lasts a few days and not everyone wants to choose this option. Fortunately, there are other possibilities.

You can dry the grapes in the oven. Wash the fruit thoroughly under running water, then put on a paper towel and dry each grape, then prick with a toothpick. Two pricks for each fruit are enough – the point is that the skin is not a lock for evaporation of water. Thanks to this, drying takes place faster, and also reduces the risk of mold. Then Heat the oven to 53 degrees Celsius. On the baking paper, put the fruit so that they do not touch. Gently spray the grapes with rapeseed oil. Put the baking tray in the oven, open the door to a few cm. Thanks to this, air circulation will be possible and you will avoid moisture accumulation. Drying in the oven lasts a minimum of 6 hours, but it can prolong up to 12. When the raisins are ready? They should have wrinkled skin, be flexible but dry to the touch. When you press, juice should not flow out of them. When you take the baking tray out of the oven, do not translate the raisins into the containers immediately – give them time to ensure that the remains of moisture evaporate completely.

Or maybe you prefer to dry grapes in a food dryer? Prepare the fruit, as before drying in the oven, wash, dry and prick with a toothpick. Place the grapes on the dryer tray, dried for about 20 hours at the same temperature as in the oven, after 18 hours check that the grapes are already dry. Remember to shake the tray so that the fruit does not stick.

What is correct Storage of home -made raisins? First of all, find the right place for them – dark and dry, like a basement or pantry. Under no circumstances can they be in the fridge, because they can catch moisture there, and as a result stick.

Put ready raisins in tightly closed glass jars or metal cans. If you want to be sure that the raisins will not moldy, put a little gray of rice into the container in which you will hold them. They will absorb possible moisture and the raisins will not break.
