This Thursday (2), in an interview with CNN Prime Timethe federal deputy and vice-leader of the PSB, Tabata Amaral (SP), defended the approval of the project that exempts the collection of IR (Income Tax) for those who receive up to R $ 5,000 per month, highlighting two proposals of their own included in the text.
One of the proposals states that any excess collection will be directed to reduce the consumption tax. “Income tax reform is not for the government to make cash, to raise more,” says the deputy.
The second measure states that the government sends to Congress, within one year, one, ensuring the correction of inflation.
The parliamentarian argued that the changes will not cause fiscal imbalance, since inflation, while eroding wages, also increases government collection. According to Tabata, “the government does not raise anymore, nor raises less, it has no fiscal impact.”
About a year of one year to send the table readjustment project, the deputy revealed to be in, considering the proximity of the 2026 elections.
“We have to be an election year or not so that people do not lose purchasing power,” says Tabata.
Criticism of Congress
Asked about the delay in approving important projects, the parliamentarian criticized the performance of the National Congress, saying that “the National Congress, especially in recent months, looked only at the interests of a portion of politics.”
The deputy attributed the recent change of posture of Congress to popular mobilization. “The people have to remind the parliamentarians that it is the people who send and who are there by the vote of the people,” he concludes.
