A car caught fire in the parking lot in front of the Municipal Police building in Nitra. A lithium battery caught fire in his luggage compartment. Members of the Fire and Rescue Service intervened on the spot and extinguished the fire, informed the Nitra City Police.
The smoke from the vehicle was noticed by a police officer who was coming to work. Together with the owner of the car, the police managed to remove the burning battery from the vehicle into a steel barrel. They then moved it to an open area of the parking lot so that the fire could not spread further.
