This salad beats traditional vegetable salad. Grandma always makes this for All Saints' Day

All Saints’ Day is an ideal opportunity for family meetings. It’s worth warming up your guests with a warm meal, but don’t forget about snacks, especially salads. Vegetable salad dominates at such celebrations, but it is worth trying a much better, equally colorful vegetable salad with chicken.. It turns out more expressive and nutritious – it will be not only a perfect appetizer, but also a great dish for dinner.

Vegetable salad with chicken has almost the same composition as the one, but we add some meat to it to make it more filling and substantial. Its taste is deeper and the products used create a harmonious whole.

What ingredients do we need to make vegetable salad with chicken? Here is the list:

  • 5 potatoes;
  • 4 carrots;
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs;
  • 4 pickled or canned cucumbers;
  • 200 g of cooked chicken;
  • 1 cup of green peas;
  • 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard;
  • 2 tablespoons of chives;
  • spices: salt and pepper to taste.

To make vegetable salad with chicken, first thoroughly scrub the potatoes and carrots. We cook these vegetables in their jackets, then strain, cool, peel and cut into cubes.

Hard boil the eggs and chop them finely. In turn, clean the cooked chicken and cut it into cubes, and drain the cucumbers and chop them finely.

Put the prepared ingredients and peas into one bowl, add mayonnaise, mustard and mix everything gently. Finally, season with salt and pepper as desired and sprinkle with chives.

Place the vegetable salad with chicken in the fridge for at least a few hours to allow all the ingredients to combine.. It is worth making it the day before.

Vegetable salad with chicken can be served as a snack. Then we put it in ramekins or salad bowls. Additionally, it is worth creating decorations from slices of glass or cucumber.

It will also be a great addition to dinner. It goes perfectly with pork chops, cabbage rolls or meatballs.

You can serve this salad just like my grandma did – for dinner. Then we serve it with fresh bread or a roll. It tastes equally good with croutons.
