RJ: shooting scares residents of Tijuca

Residents of the Casa Branca community, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, reported gunfire on Friday night (24).

On social media, residents reported that the shooting was the result of feuds between criminal factions.

The Press Secretariat of the State Secretariat of Military Police does not confirm who was responsible for the shooting. However, he states that policing was intensified in the region, after receiving reports of gunshots – and that it remains reinforced to date. During patrol, UPP Borel teams located and recovered two stolen vehicles on Estrada da Casa Branca.

In a statement, the Tio de Janeiro Civil Police did not comment directly on the case. But he declared, “the 19th DP (Tijuca) monitors the activities of criminals in the region and carries out measures to identify and hold everyone involved criminally responsible.”
