Campos reached an agreement with government and party leaders so that the increase will be gradual, adding five days of leave per year from 2027 until reaching 30 days from 2031.

Campos, leader of the PSB in the Chamber, and the deputy (PSB-SP), president of the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Paternity Leave, met on Wednesday (22) with minister Simone Tebet (Planning) to discuss compensation for this expense. The idea is that the extension of the benefit will be funded by the INSS (National Social Security Institute) — a social security benefit would be created.
According to Campos, the minister suggested the use of the fiscal space that will be opened with the extinction of tax benefits from 2027, as a result of the tax reform. “It will help us with the issue of compensation, to guarantee fiscal space and compliance with the fiscal responsibility law”, states the rapporteur.
The PSB leader says he intends to present his report to party leaders this week and take the opinion to a meeting on Thursday (30) where the Chamber’s agenda will be discussed.
