The atmosphere at the Presidente Perón Stadium, in Avellaneda, was pure madness before the second leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final between Racing and Flamengo. Argentine fans filled the ‘Cylinder’ and transformed the stands into a sea of light and smoke with an impressive use of pyrotechnics.
The aerial footage, which quickly went viral, gave the impression that the stadium was literally on fire. Despite the epic atmosphere, Racing ended up eliminated from the competition, after drawing 0-0 at home and failing to reverse the 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
