The PT stated that what became the most lethal in the country’s history is a direct consequence of an outdated model of public security, based on the logic of confrontation and spectacularization.
The operation against it has yielded to management () since 2022, with 40% of residents of the metropolitan region thinking the work is excellent or good, according to a survey released this Saturday (1st).
“This is the most lethal police action in the country’s history, marked by planning failures, lack of intelligence and disrespect for human rights. This policy of blind confrontation does not reduce crime, it only increases the cycle of pain, fear and social exclusion”, states the PT about the action, including four police officers.
The note is signed by the National Secretariat for Popular Movements and Combating Racism and the party’s Public Security Sector.
The PT adds that the Lula (PT) government has demonstrated that it is possible to combat organized crime with “action based on intelligence, financial tracking and institutional integration”.
One of them, against the PCC (First Command of the Capital), which carried out search and seizure warrants on Avenida Faria Lima, the heart of the financial market, in São Paulo, and affected the faction’s activities in the sale of fuel.
