Storms in SP: Civil Defense issues warning for Sunday (2)

The Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo issued a storm warning for the weekend, with occasional rains and intensity varying from moderate to intense. The alert is valid until this Sunday (2), cwith the possibility of climate instabilities intensifying, especially in the interior of the state and in isolated areas of the capital of São Paulo.

By 3:30 pm on Saturday (1), the CGE (Emergency Management Center) had already issued 86 alerts via SMS to all regions of the state. During Saturday, moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded in several areas of the interiorwhile in the capital there were no records of rain.

However, the forecast is for a change in temperature, resulting in quick and isolated showers until the end of Sunday afternoon (2).

Civil Defense stated that as necessary, with the CGE operating 24 hours a day. The Crisis Office also continues to mobilize.

Expected accumulations between Friday (31) and Sunday (2):

Average: Serra da Mantiqueira, regions of Sorocaba, Campinas, Baixada Santista, Bauru, Araraquara, Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, São José dos Campos and North Coast.

Alto: Regions of Barretos, Franca, Ribeirão Preto, Vale do Ribeira, Itapeva, Presidente Prudente and Marília.

Very high: Araçatuba and São José do Rio Preto regions.

Weather forecast in the capital

According to Climatempo, despite a hot Saturday, the temperature is expected to drop on Sunday, varying between 18°C ​​and 22°C. The sky will be cloudy and the forecast is for rain showers, especially in the afternoon, with a risk of gusty winds.
