Trump is extremely frustrated with Russia and Ukraine: He doesn’t want more talks, he wants action!

US President Donald Trump is “extremely frustrated” with Kiev and Moscow regarding the warWhite House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday. Trump’s statement came at a time when negotiations to end the nearly four-year-long war waged by Russia in Ukraine have collapsed, TASR reports, according to a report by AFP.

“The President is extremely frustrated with both sides of this war,” Leavitt told reporters. “He doesn’t want more talks. He wants action. He wants this war to end,” she added, adding that Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his team are continuing negotiations with both sides of the conflict.

Earlier this week, Trump expressed impatience with Ukraine and its European allies France, Britain and Germany and said that during the phone call with the leaders there were “strong words”, AFP recalls. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that further talks are planned for this weekend and that an international meeting on Ukraine could be held early next week, American participation is not guaranteed.

“If there is a real chance of a peace agreement being signed, if we feel that these meetings merit the participation of someone from the United States this weekend, then we will send a representative there,” Leavitt said.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on Thursday that Kyiv had sent an updated version of the peace plan to the United States. He added that the US is insisting on the creation of a demilitarized “free economic zone” between Russian and Ukrainian troops in eastern Ukraine as part of a settlement to the war conflict.
