One of the most popular and proven methods is the use of baking soda. All you need to do is add two tablespoons of powder to the washing machine drum along with the washing powder. Thanks to the fact that baking soda acts as a natural bleach and neutralizes unpleasant odors, our furniture will look like new. In addition, they will smell fresh.

Another method worth considering is the use of egg shells. They must first be thoroughly washed, dried and then crushed. We put them in a bag made of e.g. gauze and throw it into the washing machine along with the curtains. The shells contain calcium, which has a whitening effect. Thanks to this, after removing from the device, our fabrics will be perfectly white.

However, these are not the only home methods that can help us wash curtains effectively. If you don’t have baking soda or egg shells on hand, you can use baking powder. All you need to do is pour the entire package into the washing powder container. This product contains ingredients that will effectively brighten our curtains and restore their original shine.

Another way is to pour a glass of vinegar into the rinse aid compartment. It will not only whiten the curtains, but also soften the fabrics. In addition, we do not have to worry that its smell will remain on the fabrics, because it will disappear when the curtains are dried.

If we want our curtains to really look great, it is also worth remembering a few other issues. Before we put them in it is worth cleaning them thoroughly from dustgently shaking them out in the open air or using a vacuum cleaner with a soft tip.

Then you should soak the curtains in cold water with salt, using about half a cup of salt per 5 liters of water. We will leave the fabrics in water for an hour. Thanks to this, the salt will remove initial dirt and make the curtains ready for further cleaning and bleaching.
