Pasta casseroles have been enjoying unflagging popularity for years because combine convenience of preparation with delicious taste. You can make them in advance, use leftovers from the fridge and adjust them to your own taste. The classic base is pasta, which holds the sauce and vegetable and meat additions well. After baking, the whole thing becomes compact and appetizingly brown. The variant with penne, chicken breast, smoked bacon and vegetables is a proposition for those who like aromatic and hearty dishes. Thanks to the creamy sauce The casserole remains juicy after removing it from the oven. A large portion of well-balanced spices enhances the taste and makes the dish not boring.
Ingredients:
- 400 g makaronu penne,
- 500 g chicken breast,
- 100 g of smoked bacon,
- 200 g mushrooms (optional),
- 6 tablespoons of mayonnaise,
- 2-3 tablespoons of natural yogurt or cream 18%,
- 1-2 cloves of garlic,
- a pinch of colored pepper,
- a pinch of herbal pepper,
- a pinch of salt,
- a pinch of red sweet pepper,
- 100-200 g of yellow cheese (as desired),
- a spoonful of butter,
- gyros seasoning,
- freshly chopped parsley,
- canned tomatoes,
- tomato paste.
How to do it:
1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente, according to the instructions on the package. Strain and place it in a bowl. Wash the chicken breasts thoroughly, then cut into small cubes and season with gyros seasoning. Set aside to let the meat develop its flavor.
2. Cut the bacon into small cubes and fry in a well-heated pan. When the bacon fat begins to melt, add the chicken breast and fry everything together over medium heat. Add canned tomatoes and tomato paste to the meat. Mix everything and cook until the water from the tomatoes evaporates.
3. Fry finely chopped mushrooms in butter. Wait until the water from the mushrooms evaporates completely. Add them to the meat and mix.
4. Mix mayonnaise with yogurt, garlic and spices. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
5. Prepare a large heat-resistant dish. Add the meat, mushrooms and yogurt-mayonnaise mixture to the bowl with pasta. Mix everything and add to an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle everything with grated yellow cheese.
6. Bake at 160 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle the casserole with freshly chopped parsley.
