Olivia took a blood test: A shocking discovery at a company party! She had a tumor in her brain

Englishwoman Olivia McNee (27) thought she had fertility problems. However, a home test revealed unusual abnormalities in hormone levels, which eventually led to the discovery of a serious illness. , during a company party, she learned from the doctor that she had a brain tumor.

  • Olivia McNee was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor.
  • Abnormal hormone levels in blood test results pointed to the problem.
  • Although the tumor is not malignant, it disrupts the hormonal balance and affects the menstrual cycle.

Olivia has been suffering from irregular menstruation for several years. Later, she even discovered that she was suffering from endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).. Although she initially did not consider these health problems dangerous, in May 2025 she decided to find out if they were affecting her fertility.

An office worker from London took a home blood test through a women’s health company that looked at all the hormones related to her menstrual cycle. A few days later, she learned that some of the results were abnormal, especially her egg supply and testosterone or prolactin levels. “I had no idea what it meant, so I ordered another test. The company consultant finally told me to tell my doctor,” Olivia stated.

Doctors discovered that he had a tumor in his brain

The young woman underwent several blood tests at the doctor’s office and also underwent a magnetic resonance imaging. In June 2025, her specialist announced that has a pituitary tumor – usually a benign tumor located in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland.

Although this tumor may not be cancerous, it can disrupt hormonal balance or press on the optic nerves, causing visual disturbances and headaches. “I found out about it during a work party, which was not exactly the most appropriate place, moreover, they informed me by phone. I cried a lot and it took me a while to process it“, she explained.

She had to make big changes

Olivia noted that it was particularly difficult for her to cope with how her condition affected her fertility. Doctors warned her that the tumor affects the level of prolactin, which is responsible for lactation and breast development. “As long as I have this formation in my brain, I cannot get pregnant. Even though I’m not ready for children yet, knowing the reason why it’s not possible makes me very depressed“, she stated.

The diagnosis also shocked the family of the young woman. “They support me, but I can see that they would prefer to take all the burden on themselves. It made me rethink my lifestyle. Not that I drank and partied a lot, but rather focused on reducing stress, which helped a little. The big change was exercise. I’ve always gone to the gym and loved cardio, but my body can’t handle it anymore. My partner is a great support for me and I thank him very much for everything,” Olivia admitted.

The English woman recently underwent an MRI and received the good news that her tumor has shrunk. “I had to take a break from the meds because my breasts started to get bigger. Unfortunately, when I went off them, my cycle went completely haywire, so I had to go back on them,” she concluded, and she added that she would recommend an examination to any woman with similar symptoms.
