Kurt Cobain “was murdered”. Everything the new research says

Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana, at MTV Unplugged, in New York, November 1993.

Forced overdose, “very clean” crime scene, “manipulated” suicide note: new independent forensic investigation denies suicide. This is not the first time that the hypothesis of homicide disguised as suicide has been raised.

Almost 32 years after the death of the Nirvana frontman, a new report, prepared by a private team of forensic experts, has once again questioned the official version that the grunge legend committed suicide.

According to the new report, the death of Kurt Cobainat 27 years old, would have been a homicide staged as suicide.

“This is a homicide. We have to do something about it”these Brian Burnett (specialist who has worked on multiple cases involving overdoses followed by gunshot trauma). The investigator was cited by the independent investigator Michelle Wilkinswho worked with the team on this new report, and who spoke to the British newspaper .

The team claims to have produced a peer-reviewed paper arguing that Kurt Cobain could, after all, have been confronted by one or more aggressors, forced to take an overdose of heroin to become incapacitated and then shot on his head, with the Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun. — which would then have been placed strategically in his arms, just like a falsified suicide note.

It is worth remembering that Cobain was found dead in his home in Seattle, April 8, 1994and that authorities concluded that the musician had died around three days earlier, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite several conspiracy theories that pointed to a homicide, the case always remained closed and viewed as suicide. Now the new investigation get up several suspicions justified.

“Scene too clean”

In conversation with the Daily Mail, Wilkins points out signs compatible with oxygen deprivation and organ damage that would be more in line with an overdose than an immediate death by gunshot. In addition to pointing to a forced overdose of heroin, highlights “strangely clean” area around Kurt’s body, and the hand that held the barrel of the gun that had no blood spatter on it.

“If you see photographs of suicides with shotguns, you will see that they are brutal. There is no situation in which the hand is not covered in blood”, says the specialist.

The fact that the heroin kit was found carefully arranged at the crime scene leads the team to consider death by self-inflicted gunshot implausible, given the high level of intoxication to which Cobain would be subjected.

The kit that Cobain had for heroin consumption was found a few meters away from the body. The syringes had caps, and there were cotton swabs and pieces of heroin of similar size.

“We’re supposed to believe that he closed the needles and put everything back in order after injecting himself three times, because that’s what someone does while they’re dying,” Wilkins quips.

“Suicides are dirty, and this was a very clean scene,” concludes the forensic scientist.

“Someone made a film, it’s crazy”

Wilkins also revealed that, in the left front pocket of the pants Kurt was wearing when he died, the receipt for the gun was found. The receipt for the cartridges was “lined up at his feet.”

“For me, it seems that Someone made a film and wanted you to be absolutely sure it was a suicide“, says the renowned researcher.

Recall that the 1994 investigation concluded that the lead singer injected ten times the normal amount that a regular heroin user would inject. THE Fluid in the lungs, bleeding in the eyes and brain and liver damage found in the body match what is regularly found in heroin overdose deaths, researchers maintain.

Additionally, in most headshot deaths, blood usually enters the airway, but Cobain’s autopsy would have mentioned no such thing.

“He was dying from an overdose, so he could barely breathe, his blood wasn’t circulating properly,” explains Wilkins: “his brain and liver weren’t getting oxygen, they were suffering from a lack of nutrients and dying.”

Cobain, practically in a coma, could not handle a weapon of that size and mechanics.supports the research.

Furthermore, the shotgun cartridge was found on top of a pile of clothing, in the opposite direction to that expected for ejection.

“So you’re dying of an overdose. I mean, you’re in a coma and you’re holding this to reach the trigger and put the cartridge in your mouth. It’s crazy“, disse Wilkins.

The team replicated the weapon and recreated the moment as described in the autopsy. “If his hand was on the end of the barrel, where Kurt’s hand was, according to the Seattle police report, the gun would not eject the shell,” explains Wilkins, “so not only is there a shell where there shouldn’t be, but a shotgun shell shouldn’t even be there.”

Manipulated suicide letter?

Until suicide letterwhich became public days after the tragic death, is the subject of serious suspicion.

“The top of the letter was written by Kurt”, but “there is nothing about suicide”, says the researcher.

“Then there are four lines at the bottom. If you look closely at the note, you’ll see that the last four lines are written differently… the text is a little different. It’s bigger, it looks more scribbled,” he adds.

Long-standing theories have always pointed to homicide

Nirvana were one of the biggest bands in the world only about three years ago when Kurt Cobain’s death shocked the entire world. About seven thousand people appeared on April 10 at the Seattle Center to mourn his departure and listen to his wife and mother of his daughter, Courtney Love, on stage, the suicide note that Kurt left.

However, many fans did not want to accept that Kurt had killed himself: the case was always the subject of speculation about a possible homicide. Theories, amplified by books, documentaries and the Internet.

The theory of homicide disguised as suicide now presented, in fact, emerged early. The private investigator Tom Grant has guaranteed since 1997 that Cobain was too intoxicated to do what the autopsy concluded he did. It presents the events mainly through Grant’s lens and has become a landmark for those who defend the homicide theory.

But it was the journalist Richard Lee the first to publicly dispute the suicide conclusion, in April 1994. He said there were inconsistencies and changes in elements described in the reports (including the way the shotgun blast was characterized). The series “Kurt Cobain Was Murdered” began broadcasting five days after the discovery of Cobain’s body.

Suspicions about Courtney Love

Courtney Love, sister of Kurt Cobain

Among these suspicions, Kurt’s widow and lead singer of Hole always stood out as a suspect, Courtney Love.

The documentary, by Nick Broomfieldgave rise to suspicions about Courtney, when interviewing Grant and Kurt Cobain’s father-in-law, Hank Harrison, who said his daughter helped kill the singer.

Broomfield also with the musician Eldon ‘The Duke’, Hokewho assured him that he had received a money proposal from Courtney Love to kill Kurt Cobain. The lead singer of The Mentors stated that he refused the proposal because he was leaving on tour the next day. A few days after the confession, El Duce would be found dead on the train tracks (but no connection between his death and Cobain’s death was ever made).

If not, it will be reopened

Despite the request to reopen the case, the authorities maintain the original position: Seattle police say they continue to consider Kurt Cobain’s death a suicide and the King County public health department says it does not have, so far, any evidence to justify reopening the investigation, although it says it is available to review conclusions if new elements emerge.

“The King County Medical Examiner’s Office worked with local law enforcement, performed a full autopsy and followed all procedures to reach the conclusion that the cause of death was suicide,” a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner’s Office told the Daily Mail. “Our institute is always open to revising its conclusions if new evidence emerges, but to date we have seen nothing to justify reopening this case and our previous determination of death.”

“Our detective concluded that he died by suicide, and that continues to be the position maintained by this department,” a spokesperson added. Seattle Police Department.

There had already been a review of the process in 2014, but without reopening.
