Feijóo asks for extreme security at the dams: “What happened to us cannot happen either with the blackout or with the AVE”

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, traveled this Thursday to Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) due to the serious floods suffered in Andalusia in recent days. There, together with the mayor of the city, María José García-Pelayo, and the president of the Board, Juan Manuel Moreno, Feijóo has once again demanded a “national water plan” that includes the prevention of “droughts” and “floods” with a high level of “coordination” between administrations.

“What happened to us cannot happen either with the blackout or with the AVE, we need a lot of maintenance, a lot of security, without alarming anyone, but with the determination to serve everyone,” said Feijóo, who asks to reserve a section of that “national water plan” expressly for the “maintenance” of the 2,400 dams. “It is evident that the level of water impounded in the dams is at a historical record, at maximum stress. That has to be reviewed. And we must ensure that in all places, in the lower part of the reservoirs and dams, you can live safely,” he added in an appearance without questions.

The PP leader will not attend the plenary session this Thursday where the multi-recidivism law supported by his party, Junts, PSOE and Vox, is being voted on, although it is not clear that the ultras will vote in favor of a rule proposed by the Catalan independentists. In any case, a priori, the votes are guaranteed. This Wednesday, Feijóo raised his tone even more about the train accident from the gallery of the Lower House. In his cabinet they assure that the Government will end up sitting on the bench for the cause investigating the event.
