The PP has admitted this Wednesday that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, may not have known in advance about the sexual assault allegedly committed by him on an agent until the complaint was made public this week. “We don’t know if he knew or didn’t know about the fact. But whether he knew it or not, he has the responsibility of knowing what is happening,” said the PP’s deputy secretary of Social Policy, Carmen Fúnez, in reference to Marlaska in an interview on RNE. “If it is bad that he knew it and covered it up, it is worse that he did not know it,” Fúnez insisted, therefore leaving the door open for Marlaska to ignore the facts. The deputy secretary of the PP has demanded that the minister resign in any case. The PP, with Alberto Núñez Feijóo at the head, that the minister knew about the events and covered them up, despite the fact that the victim’s lawyer has reported that the complaint was handled with the utmost discretion and that the woman informed her superior of what happened this week when the complaint was made public.
