Vienna/Korneuburg – Criticism of the Vienna Higher Regional Court’s decision that the seizure of the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder of an Austrian Airlines aircraft that was badly damaged by hail in June 2024 was unlawful came from passenger lawyer Wolfgang List on Sunday. According to the OLG, the “hailstorm” was classified as a disturbance, not an accident. The confiscation would only have been possible in the event of an accident. List spoke of a “massive” hindrance to enlightenment.
