Government ends waterway concession – 02/24/2026 – Panel

The assessment at Palácio do Planalto is that the president will not discuss the now revoked decree again, which included stretches of Amazon rivers in the federal government’s waterway concessions program.

The decree provided for the carrying out of technical, environmental and logistical studies to include waterways on the Tapajós, Madeira and Tocantins rivers in the National Privatization Program.
