Epstein case: Hillary Clinton says she has no information about crimes

Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State and former First Lady of the United States, told a Congressional committee this Thursday (26) that she did not remember meeting Jeffrey Epstein and that she had no information to share about his criminal activities.

“I have no recollection of ever meeting Mr. Epstein. I have never flown on his plane or visited his island, his homes or his offices. I have nothing to add to that,” Hillary said in a statement to the House of Representatives Oversight Committee.

This Thursday, she delivers, New York.

Hillary, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, was the focus of Trump’s ties to Epstein, who committed suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

She alleged that the Trump administration “dismantled” a State Department office focused on international sex trafficking.

The former secretary and her husband, before the committee, but relented when parliamentarians decided to prosecute them for contempt of Congress.

Bill Clinton is expected to testify before the committee this Friday (27).

The former head of state flew on Epstein’s plane several times in the early 2000s after leaving office. He denied any wrongdoing and expressed regret over his association with the tycoon.

According to the Oversight Committee chairman, Republican James Comer, Epstein visited the White House 17 times while Clinton was in office.

A spokesperson for the Clintons did not respond to a request for comment. Comer said transcripts of the Clintons’ interviews will be made public.

Republican denies political motivation for testimony

Before the hearing, James Comer denied that the investigation was a partisan effort against Trump’s 2016 presidential rival, noting that several Democrats had pushed for the Clintons to testify.

“No one is accusing the Clintons of any wrongdoing at this point,” Comer commented.

He said the committee would seek to uncover any interactions she may have had with Epstein, her involvement with the Clintons’ charitable work and any relationship she may have had with Ghislaine Maxwell, an imprisoned Epstein associate.

Rep. Robert Garcia, the committee’s top Democrat, told reporters that Trump and U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were also expected to testify.

Lutnick admitted to visiting Epstein’s private island years after saying she had broken ties with him.
