The National Justice Inspectorate (CNJ) determined, this Friday (27), the removal of judge Magid Nauef Láuar, of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais (TJ-MG). The judge gained national attention after acquitting a 35-year-old man who had a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old teenager, considered rape of a vulnerable person.

During the investigation, reports emerged that pointed to the alleged commission of crimes against sexual dignity attributed to the judgewhen he worked as a judge in the districts of Ouro Preto and Betim, in Minas Gerais.
According to the CNJ, the precautionary removal of the judge aims to ensure that the investigations occur without interference. The body highlighted that the disciplinary procedure does not represent a prior judgment of guilt. “The Internal Affairs Department emphasizes that disciplinary procedures aim to preserve the credibility of the judiciary, ensure the regular functioning of Justice and maintain society’s trust in the Judiciary,” says CNJ.
