The governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), carried out this Sunday (8 March 2026) a knee infiltration procedure in , in the capital of São Paulo.
According to the state government, the intervention is part of the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and aims to reduce the inflammatory process, alleviate pain and improve joint function.
According to the statement, the procedure was carried out without complications and showed satisfactory immediate progress, according to the medical team’s assessment. Here is it (PDF – 2 MB).
The government also informed that Tarcísio will continue to undergo medical and physiotherapeutic monitoring, in addition to undergoing periodic clinical reassessments to monitor the evolution of his condition.

“The Government of the State of São Paulo informs that Governor Tarcísio de Freitas was subjected, this Sunday (8), at the Vila Nova Star Hospital, to an infiltration, as part of the treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee, contributing to the reduction of the inflammatory process, pain relief and improvement of joint function.
“The procedure was uneventful, with good tolerance and satisfactory immediate evolution. The governor will continue to undergo medical and physiotherapeutic monitoring, with periodic clinical reassessment of the condition’s evolution.”
