While flying cars have not made it out of the realm of the future for decades, electric aircraft taxis are now being given permission to take off in the USA. As the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Monday, eight projects have received approval to participate in a three-year test process. The selected projects are spread across 26 states and include leading aircraft manufacturers, air traffic drivers and state-level partners.
