Diesel rises 7% in jobs after conflicts in Iran, says survey

Edenred Mobilidade released the IPTL (Edenred Ticket Log Price Index) with data collected from 21,000 stations in the 27 UFs (Federative Units). The S-10 diesel showed an increase of 7.72%. The price went from R$6.22 to R$6.70 per liter. Regular diesel registered an increase of 6.10%. The value rose from R$6.44 to R$6.52 per liter. The comparison considered the values ​​from the 1st week of March in relation to the last 7 days of February.

The ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) released different numbers for the same period on Friday (6 March 2026). ANP data indicated that S-10 diesel was R$6.15 in the week ending March 6. The increase was 0.98% compared to the previous 7 days. Regular diesel reached R$6.08. The increase was 0.83% in the same comparison.

The rise in diesel prices accompanied the movement of oil on the international market. The conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran has escalated in recent weeks. The Strait of Hormuz was closed. A barrel of oil approached US$120 on Monday (March 9, 2026). The value fell in the following days to around US$90.

More than 30 member countries of the IEA (International Energy Agency) announced on Wednesday (11 March 2026) that they will release 400 million barrels of oil from their emergency reserves. The release is the largest ever carried out by the group. The measure should help contain prices.

The IPTL points out that the biggest increase in prices was recorded in the Northeast. The increase was 13.17% for S-10 diesel and 8.79% for regular diesel. The average price in the region reached R$7.22 per liter.

In the analysis by State, Roraima recorded the highest average price for regular diesel. The value was R$7.84 per liter. Pernambuco presented the lowest value. The price was R$6.23 per liter. For S-10 diesel, Rondônia recorded the highest price. The value was R$7.90 per liter. Paraíba presented the lowest average value. The price was R$6.26 per liter.
