According to Ukrainian experts in military technology, these have already been used on several occasions on the front, especially in eastern areas of the country. The main advantage is clear: the wired connection guarantees stable data transmission and a continuous video signal, which improves precision in attack or reconnaissance operations.
However, this innovation also entails limitations. The use of fiber optics adds weight to the system and reduces both the speed and carrying capacity of the drone. In some cases, models equipped with coils up to 40 kilometers They can only carry relatively light loads, which limits their tactical use.
Even so, their resistance to interference makes them a threat difficult to neutralize with traditional electronic defense systems. In practice, Ukrainian forces are forced to resort to more direct methods, such as the use of light weapons or interceptor drones designed to destroy them in mid-flight.
