The meeting will be held hours after the PGR spoke out in favor of house arrest for former president Bolsonaro
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, will meet late this Monday afternoon (23 March 2026) with former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL). The magistrate is the rapporteur of the investigation into the attempted coup d’état in the STF.
The meeting will be held hours after the Attorney General’s Office in favor of granting house arrest to the former president (PL). Read Paulo Gonet’s opinion (PDF – 9 MB).
In the demonstration, the PGR stated that the “what the records present at the moment is a picture in which compliance with what is postulated by the former president finds support in the duty of the Public Authorities to preserve the physical and moral integrity of those under their custody, even as a concrete projection of the structuring foundations of the Democratic State of Law”.
According to Gonet, Bolsonaro’s clinical evolution in recent days recommends easing his prison sentence, so that he can have full-time monitoring of his health status. For the Attorney General of the Republic, the home stay will serve to preserve the physical and moral integrity of the former president.
