Adela Vinczeová is known all over Slovakia as a prompt presenter with apt humor and intellect. Many fans believe that her natural inclination to search for deeper meanings and the ability to make a point of the situation are not accidental. She is the daughter of the successful writer Jozef Banáš and a prominent Slovak artist Mária Banášová.
It is in the female line of their family that the aesthetic sense is combined with a specific view of the world. While Vincze handles the word, her mother breathes life into the clay. In artistic circles, she is known as Ria, and her contribution to Slovak culture is unquestionable. The proof of her exceptional talent is also the winning of a prestigious award the Golden Gunnar award, which she received in 2008.
However, her work deviates from the classic notions of pottery, as she works with earthenware, which is fired at 1200 °C. “I glaze, oxidize, use ceramic colors or gold to indicate the materialism we live with,” she explained in the past the process of creating unique works.
For Adela, her mother’s creations are not just “dust collectors”, she sees in them a piece of life and a story. “I perceive my mother’s work as a pleasant symbiosis of artistic quality with content, which means that there are always some thoughts, some forum, something that the sculpture says and other than what it is made of and how nicely it is made.” she said earlier for TASR.
Art with a chilling message
The presenter recently shared her joy at her next success. “My mother Mária Banášová has another exhibition of her works,” she announced to fans on Instagram on Monday. At the same time, she published a shot of one of the exhibited works – a precisely crafted bust of a little girl whose gentle expression seems calm and sympathetic. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
She also showed the second work, which seems to be a response to current events in the world. Figures in motion are depicted on the stoneware block, as if slowly stepping or crouching. At the same time, they hold their long noses. A long nose can be a symbol of lying, even when we were little our parents told us that if we lie, we will grow a long nose.
The dominant and unsettling element is the golden missile that lands directly on this block, creating a deep crack in it. “Even with such a current topic,” the well-known blonde added to her mother’s work. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
