The Electoral Court of Rio Grande do Sul ordered her to remove a post from the air because it considered that she had made
In the post, published on her Instagram profile, Manuela talks on video with some supporters and says that the 30% level she has obtained in polls needs to increase for her to be elected.
“These 30 in the survey have to be more. There are two vacancies. To be elected, we need to go beyond 30. We need to reach my 44. We need to get there and I think together, anticipating, becoming a vote now, and not at a time of despair, right? I said: ‘What climate do you want?’ I want the climate of the vote from the last week of 18 and 22 now. Is this the climate that will make me a senator? We need to do this from now on”, he says.
The post prompted a representation from the Public Electoral Ministry, since the electoral campaign only starts in August.
“From the analysis of the images, it can be seen that the request for votes did not happen by chance or impromptu, nor was it a speech error. On the contrary, it is evident as the main point of a planned action”, says the agency.
In a decision this Tuesday (24), electoral judge Francisco Thomaz Telles agreed with the arguments and ordered the removal of the post.
“The expressions reproduced in the initial – ‘to elect’, ‘anticipating, becoming a vote now’, ‘it is this climate that will make me a senator’ and ‘we need to do this from now on’, considered in their global context, reveal plausibility in the thesis that there was anticipation of a typical campaign act through formulas semantically equivalent to an explicit request for a vote”, he says in the decision.
When contacted, the pre-candidate said that she has not yet been notified and that she will appeal the decision when that happens. She took the post down.
