Tiger Woods Reveals Alleged Cause of Car Accident That Led to His Eight-Hour Imprisonment

The American golfer was arrested on Friday after his SUV rolled over on Jupiter Island, Florida, and was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and refusing a urine test.

The North American golfer by driving under the influence of substances, after his Land Rover rolled over on Jupiter Island, Florida. According to the he himself stated, during his testimony, that he was looking at his cell phone and changing the radio station before the accident.

According to the judicial statement obtained by the British newspaper, the 50-year-old golfer stated that did not notice that the truck in front of him had slowed downand that the accident occurred due to a poorly calculated overtaking on a two-way road with a double continuous line.

The same document reveals that, after the accident, Tiger Woods left the passenger seat and was “sweat profusely”. When speaking with law enforcement agents, he presented “red and glassy eyes”, “very dilated pupils” and movements “lethargic and slow”.

According to the arrest report, cited by Tiger Woods is said to have taken some prescription medications during Friday morning. They were also found two tablets hhydrocodona in his left pocket, the same substance detected when he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in May 2017.

During field sobriety tests, one of the officers noticed that Tiger Woods was walking erratically. The golfer explained that he had performed seven back surgeries and more than 20 interventions on the right leginjured in a car accident near Los Angeles in February 2021.

After these tests, authorities concluded that Tiger Woods’ faculties were compromised and that was not in a condition to drive safely.

Trial scheduled for April

The golfer, who emerged unharmed from the accident, was also subjected to a blood alcohol test, better known as the “balloon test”, which no alcohol was detected.
