US President must “provide important update” regarding the war in the Middle East, according to White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt
The President of the United States, (Republican Party), makes an official statement on TV this Wednesday (April 1, 2026), starting at 10pm (Brasília time), about the war in Iran.
In no X, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced that Trump will make a statement to the nation “to provide an important update on Iran”. The Republican’s speech comes hours after the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, criticized the US government, but with reservations for the American people.

On Monday (March 30), a report from the newspaper, based on US government sources, stated that Trump told advisors that the war would take place even without guaranteeing the reopening of the .
According to the newspaper, Trump and advisers assessed that a military operation to fully reopen the sea passage could prolong the conflict beyond the 6-week deadline promised by the president. The strategy discussed now is to concentrate attacks to weaken the Iranian Navy and reduce the country’s missile capabilities.
Also on Tuesday (March 31), the US Secretary of Defense, stated that the Armed Forces are prepared for the Middle East if Iran does not comply with the demands. “We have more and more options, and they have less… in just 1 month we have defined the terms, the next few days will be decisive”said the secretary.
According to Hegseth, it will be up to President Donald Trump to determine the end of the military operation.
